I'm a novelist and science writer, living in south-east London. You can catch the briefest glimpse of my life of genteel poverty in Blink, a short film inspired by my first book of non-fiction, The Eye: a Natural History, If you want to know more about my work as a novelist, Aritha van Herk's interview does the job better than I can. It was conducted around the publication of The Weight of Numbers. I'm afraid you won't find a hint here or anywhere else about the next novel: I'm terrified that if I say anything, the bugger will die on me. But you can read my 2000 thriller Painkillers, download PDFs of my better short stories, and track down obscure juvenalia in the bibliography.
